I'm an Angels fan as I grew up in LA, but I lived in Michigan so I too root for the Tigers/Lions/Red Wings. Now I live in the DC area so I also root for the Nationals/Capitals, etc. The point being just because Hillary roots for both the Cubs and New York teams, she is doing nothing more than what the rest of us do who need to move...we adapt to the region. If Arkansas had pro teams, I would expect that she would root for them too. After all, its not like I moved to San Fransisco and need to root for the Giants/A's!!

Obama is on track to win.......too bad he isn't a Steeler fan

Folks, it's an old picture, from the 2006 Monday Night Football season... Remember when Obama did the intro, playing off the idea that he hadn't declared yet?
It's our blogger's idea of a joke. And YOU ALL FELL FOR IT!.

Mr Mitchell:
i am a Native Illinoisian
Wisc DOES have an MLB
Da Brewers, a Bud (steroid) Selig creation
Later
rc in Sacramento who is an Independent who voted for Obama on Feb 5 (08)...

Dear Roy. You are sorely mistaken. 1) that is not a Cubs hat, that is a Chicago Bears hat. 2) Wisconsin has an MLB Team. It is called the Milwaukee Brewers.

Who cares?
McCain on the other hand has bigger worries. A group seems to be forming that doubts his Vietnam War hero status and calls him a traitor and a liar:

Congrats on getting readers to engage in and discuss the stupidest subject imaginable. And these same people are questioning the intelligence of people from Wisconsin?!

OBAMA HAS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT FROM THIS
(Because Packers fans cant read)

Whoever is leaving these comments in () doesn't quite know the facts too well. In fact Obama was not booed at a rally with Brady Poppinga, good try to defend your article though.

I am not sure whether people realise that it is about 35 years ago that John McCain returned to America from Vietnam and was met by President Nixon. I dont know why his role in that war still has relevance apart from the fact that he has a good relationship with the military establishment.
The role that the President plays is highlighted by the foreign policy agenda during the term served by the President. Most of the recent Presidents are remembered in terms of their foreign policies and missions. Since 1940 some of the highlights have been:
*Roosevelt in World War 2.
*Kennedy in the Cuban Missile Crisis.
*Johnson and Nixon in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.
*Reagan in the period of the collapse of the Soviet Union *Clinton in Yugoslavia.
* GHW Bush in the Iraq invasion of Kuwait and their subsequent expulsion.
*GW Bush in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
If the future resembles the past we have to reason by induction that regardless of whether McCain or Obama/Clinton become President there will be a foreign policy highlight and the question is what will it be in this term?
Will it be Obama in Afghanistan/Pakistan or McCain in Iran or will it be something we did not expect?

I was worried there for a minute, thinking this might be important. So glad I was wrong.
P.S. My husband is a Packers fan who reads the Times, and he even understands it. (Most of the time.)

Maybe it's a University of Chicago cap. You know they've got a roaring football team!

JFK saved the world in the Cuban Missile Crisis? I lived through that. It has now been established by historians that: Krushchev saved the world from JFK's inexperience by backing off, realizine that JFK didn't know what he was doing; and, JFK lied to the American people that he had not agreed to remove US missiles from Turkey (which he had secretky done). Let';s remember history - JFK was a mess of a president!!!

"If the "party leaders" give the election to Clinton even though Obama has won the popular vote I will not vote or support any Democrat in any election for the next 40 years."
Obama would smack you silly for such a dumb remark.
Anyone that would vote for another Bush clone like McCain just in spite is an ignorant voter with no knowledge of politics.

A mailer that Obama is circulating in Ohio falsely says that Clinton thinks the North American Free Trade Agreement “has been a boon to the economy.” Well Obama is up to dirty trick again!!!

As a Wisconsinite, let me clear up some of the confusion that presents itself within this blog. First, Wisconsin has a MLB team, the Brewers. Second, the hat Obama is wearing is a Bears hat. Third, to think that people from Wisconsin base their vote for president on what sports team the candidate backs, demonstrates the ignorance of people living on the coast. We want someone that is straight forward and honest. What most of us abhor are superficial, shallow, self absorbed people/candidates with a false sense of self importance. Paris for governor of the state of California in 2010!!!!

It seems that Clinton supporters don't have any substantial reason to dislike Obama ( after all his program only differs from Clinton's in the small print, he's a better speaker and he appeals to a wider base) so they make up silly things to convince themsleves (and they hope others) why he shouldn't be president. Luckily, mosty people can see through this sad state of affairs.

i suspect the :wisconsin doesn't have a mlb team" was a joke....in the same family as: why doesn't milwaukee have a pro football team? because then green bay would want one too. har har.
as a voter i am much more comfortable with someone who is loyal to anything in face of potential criticism. it shows some values and backbone. good qualities in anyone much less a leader. like the song says, "if you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything."
hillary is too much of a social chameleon for me to trust. i mean, she's a senator from new york because......her home state is new york? she was a resisdent of new york? she......i'm sorry, why???

HELLLO! THATS NOT EVEN OBAMA! ITS MORGAN FREEMAN!
Posted by: roy mitchell | February 18, 2008 at 03:16 PM
Two rather simple equations
Hillary = cub fan
cubs = losers
Therefore Hillary loses
Obama= White Sox fan
White Sox = recent WS champions
Therefore Obama wins

Obama’s efforts to connect to the Republican Party, specifically Bush, and Dick Chaney, of the Halliburton Company, dates back to the Presidents Grandfather, Prescott Bush, and indeed Chaney was once an executive officer of Halliburton.
The American military pounds Iraq with Artillary, bombs, and the like, destroying large sections of cities, and infra-structures, then Halliburton comes in to rebuild. Halliburton and Halliburton associated companies have raked in ten’s of billions.
Obama is just like the BIG HALIBURTAN. Haliburton has contracted to build detention centers in the U.S. similiar to the one in Quantanammo Bay, Cuba. Halliburton does nothing to earn the Two Dollars for each meal an American Serviceman in Iraq eats.
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/08/17/eveningnews/main636644.shtml
Halliburton was scheduled to take control of the Dubai Ports in The United Arab Emiirate. The deal was canceled when Bush was unable to affect the transfer of the American Ports.
Now we see what some might suspect as similiar financial escapading from the Democrats.
Two years ago, Iraq’s Ministry of Electricity gave a $50 million contract to a start-up security company - Companion- owned by now-indicted businessman (TONY REZKO) Tony Rezko and a onetime Chicago cop, Daniel T. Frawley, to train Iraqi power-plant guards in the United States. An Iraqi leadership change left the deal in limbo. Now the company, Companion Security, is working to revive its contract.
Involved along with Antoin “Tony” Rezco, long time friend and neighbor of Democratic Presidential hopeful Barack Obama, and former cop Daniel T. Frawley, is Aiham Alsammarae. Alsammarae was accused of financial corruption by Iraqi authorities and jailed in Iraq last year before escaping and returning here.
Obama should be vetted and disclose his connection to the criminal money generating underworld. Besides, his connections to the REZCO MAFIA types, his up-coming tax fraud charges — Obama needs to disclose why he is a MUSLIM and stop suppoting our intervention in IRAQ. It’s time to shove an introduction to this fake rip-off Obama and invite the thief pipsqueke to meet the Waukesheake Police Department.
