Chuck Norris is getting angry
Manchester, N.H. -- Chuck Norris is acting more and more like a candidate himself. And a combative one at that.
Since Norris came out foursquare for Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee in October, he's been a constant traveling (and campaigning) companion with the candidate. He's become so identified with the former Arkansas governor that another GOP contender, Mitt Romney, unveiled a Web ad last week that sought to humorously use Norris to tear down Huckabee.
One problem: Norris isn't laughing.
His antipathy toward Romney has been increasingly evident. On the trail in New Hampshire on Sunday, he alluded negatively to the former Massachusetts governor. Today he was more direct: In his regular column on WorldNetDaily, his posting is headlined, "Saving a roundhouse for Romney."
You can read it here.
At the end of the piece, Norris serves fair warning. He (or a ghostwriter) says: "Romney's ad ends with the narrator asking, 'Chuck Norris, Mike Huckabee, now who deserves the roundhouse kick?' The ad answers the question by manipulating my photo, which delivers a blow to Huckabee's head with the cartoonish lettering 'POW!'
"Of course my real response would be quite to the contrary. I think you can guess where my heel might land. POW!"

Who's Chuck Norris?

I don't blame Norris for this editorial. I thinks it's pretty obvious that Romney is using his millions to distort the truth. The debates the other night clearly show that Romney can dish it out, but can't take it. He constantly tried to say that personal attacks weren't warranted, but then threw many of his own on others. He says that the voters want real change and that he can bring it, but all I can say is He's a multi-millionaire who grew up with privilege and doesn't even know what the middle class, and those even less fortunate are going through right now. As for his backing of the pharmaceutical companies.....clearly shows he's been bought already. State Farm, All State, and Famers checks are already in the mail.

I think Ron Paul is the only sane voice among the candidates.
Our country is reeling from the Bush Administration and I believe Ron Paul can and will bring America back up on its feet. Unlike Obama, Ron Paul has a poven track record he can and will follow through on his promises.

Mike are you an idiot?
Since when did REpublicans bash a man for being succesful. When your candidate has to be payed for his speaches and sermons to survive. Doesn't sound like very succesful man to me. Give it up. Huckabee is no conservative, Just ask Rush, Hannity, Beck, Levin,Ingrahm, etc........

The only thing I remember about Chuck Norris was that Bruce Lee beat the hell out of him. Huckabee granted clemency to 1033 convicted felons, 12 murderers and many rapists. Try to improve his soft on crime image with Chuck Norris. Give me a break!
Chuck & Huck should sell weight losing machine together, now that would be more convincing. By the way Chuck, you don't look so good any more on TV, you might want to work harder on that phony total gym machine.

I think Norris is spot on--Why in the world is Mitt spending money to attack Norris?????
Posted by: Rich Moore | January 07, 2008 at 05:25 PM
Huckster is a loser and when he talks I feel like I need a shower. I think it's funny that he is running such a "positive" campaign. What a joke. Does the words kick his teeth in or kick him in the groin, mean anything to anyone? That came from that positive campaign manager Anti-Arab discrimination leader Ed Rollins.

Loved the ad!!!
And I think that Huck needs to address the facts that Mitt exposed in the ad. That Chuck Norris is alongside a candidate that does not honor what Norris is supposed to be there portraying ... hence, the roundhouse kick to that candidate.
Bravo Mitt!!

This is from Rush Limbaugh:
Iowa is a caucus; it’s a weird setup. New Hampshire allows independents to vote in the Republican primary, which is why McCain is doing as well as he is doing, and it’s why the media want this to be a bellwether against Romney. I mean, Pat Buchanan came in second. He came in a very strong second in New Hampshire in 1992. Now, I’m not saying that these contests are not to be taken seriously here, and that they’re not to be fought and to be won, but we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves. New Hampshire is no longer the conservative barometer it used to be. The state has changed, it is now quite liberal. A lot of people who used to live in Massachusetts have moved into New Hampshire to escape New Hampshire’s high taxation and other problems. New England generally the northern states, states like Iowa, is not where the conservative base resides in large numbers. The Drive-By Media would love to destroy the conservative coalition. They would love to destroy the conservative base to the Republican Party. That’s why they are promoting Huckabee; it is why they are promoting McCain.

Chuck Norris should run in the race for himself :)

Huckabee started with the attack ad using Chuck Norris as a prop to attack Romney. Chuck Norris is just a prop. Romney turned it around on him. Now some are chastising Romney once again as the instigator? Unbelievable.
Huckabee has spent most of his campaign energy campaigning against Romney. And that effort hasn't been about issues but about stating how offended he is that someone is challenging him on different issues.
Huckbee's slight of hand is on par with Hillary Clinton. In the last debate Romney said one thing and then Huckabee immediately and intentionally misquoted him. I don' know where my vote will land but if it was between Romney or Huckabee alone I would definitely choose Romney.
Huckabee is too small minded for a world so big and diverse. I don't have confidence that he can guide this diverse of a nation.

Huckabee and Romney are both members of wacky religious cults. This, by itself, is reason to question their abilities as decision makers. Who wants to elect another president who can't or won't discern between fact and fiction?

Another case of a political figure using a celibrity to further his cause. The difference between Obama and Huckabee, is that Huckabee is letting Norris be part of his campaign to such an extent that it is nothing short of pandering to Huckabee's would be underdog disenfrachised demographic on a level so blatantly self serving, it's nauseating.

Chuck Norris attacked Romney when he said that it's not fair that he can spend as much of his own money as he wants, but contributors can only throw in $2300 each so it's not fair. Then he wanted each candidate to get a government subsidy of $30 million to spend on their campaign. Where do I sign up? I could use $30 Million.
Huckabee strikes me as a total hippocrite who is pimping out his religion in order to get personal gain. I find that repulsive. Romney is a very good politician, meaning he can lie his way out of anything. He is either a liar or he is incompetent - do you really think he doesn't see his ads before they are aired?
Ron Paul is an honest and humble man - he may not give a rousing speech that makes us all feel good, but he speaks the truth and does not waver from his beliefs. With 70% of Americans against the war in Iraq does anyone seriously think any pro-war Republican candidate has any chance of winning a general election? Please take an honest and critical look at Ron Paul's positions and record. His message is not well suited to sound bites, and requires some independent thought since the media will not ever push him on us like they are doing with huckabee or Romney. Take an active part in this election and make an informed choice. I will be choosing Ron Paul.

In the short term it may have been politically beneficial to court religious voters, but the Right needs to stop drinking the Kool-Aid if they don't want to lose future generations of voters who are becoming overwhelmingly non-religious. I'm willing to let my wallet suffer if that is the price of not having an authoritarian theocracy, and I know I am not alone.

I like Chuck...who doesn't? And Huckabee is humorous, if ineffectual. Romney is too wealthy and engrained in the old boy network, McCain is ok, but still wants the war to continue, which is wrong. Billary is part of the Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton cabal and though she may win, it won't be because of my vote.
Dr. Paul, whether he wins or not, will espouse my feelings about the course the nation is on, and the course it should take.
Vote for him if you want the best for the country and the world.

Dudes, it's Chuck Freakin' Norris. What he knows about serious issues I can fit in my shoe. His endorsement means zero unless you're a weirdo who thinks Norris, because he is famous, actually has something to say. The only sane response to Norris is to mock him, so good on Mitt.

Obama has a great voice, energy and presence, but he's too green. I don't care about the drug allegations or cigarette smoking.
He'd be a good VP.
Paul/Obama....or Paul/Kucinich 2008

what is a Chuck Norris? Is that like a chuck steak or maybe an up-chuck. It is time for Chuck to give up the make believe POWS, WAPS etc, etc and retire. In terms of acting the BATMAN cartoons were more lifelike. Chucky should stick to trying to sell old cougars machines to take out the wrinkles.

let's just have a tag team event and get it over with- Huckabee and Norris vs. Bishop Romney and the guntoting Joseph Smith...who unfortunately for him ran out of bullets as he met his demise. Keep on firing Romney...you two faced, double talking slick haired politician...the people see you for who you are! Mr. Corporate take over, mergers and acquisitions. Nothing but a privilged, pretty boy. Time you got an old fashioned A** whoopin., to take you off your high horse.

We don't need some unelected puppet-master pulling the strings of the next administration. And we all know that's what Chuck Norris would become. He would use his facade of heroism to maintain support and hide his influence, but Huckabee would always be beholden to the POWER he held. We don't need a secret master in a dark throne room manipulating the White House. Chuck Norris must be taken seriously. If he wants to rule the world, he should run under his own name. As it is, he will just lurk behind the amiable preacher-man until power is in his grasp. Few can oppose him now... Who could oppose him with the president on his side?
I'll say it clearly: A vote for Mike Huckabee is a vote for the secret tyrany of Chuck Norris.

Yep! It’s cold & cruel in the world of the opinion mind set. How many cause celebs have spent this much time with a candidate for president? Refresh my memory please. It is really worthwhile challenging the looks of a 68 year old man that can move like a panther, not just on TV. I wonder how aged Chuck looked at the age of the questioner in fact let’s look at the photos on the wall. Not too many seniors look that good at his age. The pusillanimous always challenge the achievers as thought that would change their lack of something. Fact Mr. Norris served in the military and unfortunately lost a brother in Vietnam. Some people make history and others just sit back and read a book. There are those who do both.
