What's next, bowling for dollars?

September 21, 2007 |  9:05 am

Taking a page from National Public Radio fundraising drives, the Barack Obama campaign has introduced a "Double Your Impact" scheme in which donors get to meet other donors who give similar amounts. The ploy is you sign up and offer to donate, say, $5, which is the minimum option on the site. The Obamans then troll for someone who will match your $5 donation, and then introduce you electronically.

Voila!  Instant friendship!  Kind of like a dating game show ... where you really don't know who you might get paired with.
