The Bush-Belichick connection

September 14, 2007 |  5:02 pm

There's still time, but it's going to be hard, very hard, for the other presidential campaigns to top Bill Richardson for the release of the week.

Richardson, campaigning today in Iowa, through his staff issued the following statement on the much-publicized spying incident involving the National Football League’s New England Patriots:

"The President has been allowed to spy on Americans without a warrant, and our U.S. Senate is letting it continue. You know something is wrong when the New England Patriots face stiffer penalties for spying on innocent Americans than Dick Cheney and George Bush."

We especially like the question posed by Frank James of the Chicago Tribune's "Swamp" blog, who jumped on the release: "So is Richardson saying he thinks the president should have to give up a first-round draft choice, too?"

I sure wouldn't mind him being fined half a million dollars.

The Bush-Belichick connection?
How about the Hillary-O. J. connection?
(how is Vince Foster, these days?
Makes as much sense.
