Finally, a public panel for candidate wives

September 21, 2007 |  4:40 pm

If you're tired of watching all those suits on stage gabbing away one by one over the talking points and pretend-impromptu quips they rehearsed all afternoon before the presidential debate, mark your calendar for Oct. 23.

That's when California's first lady, Maria Shriver, will hold her annual Governor's and First Lady's Women's Conference in Long Beach.

Many of the presidential candidates' spouses have already confirmed their attendance including Cindy McCain, Ann Romney, Elizabeth Edwards and Michelle Obama.

The discussion topics will focus on the role of political wives and will touch on handling families, careers, personal lives and the public demands of a presidential campaign. More details to come.
