The haircut saga continues
The Washington Post scored an interview with the Beverly Hills stylist who gave John Edwards his much-commented-upon $400 haircut and, in a Style section story today, reports that the expensive trim was just one of many for the Democratic presidential candidate.
Indeed, Joseph Torrenueva says that on one occasion in 2004, he charged $1,250 because he flew to Atlanta to work his tonsorial magic on Edwards and missed two days' worth of other clients.
The Edwards camp parries the news fairly well, saying an aide dealt with haircut logistics --- including costs --- and the candidate himself didn't focus on the tab. And spokeswoman Colleen Murray adds: "He didn't lie about weapons of mass destruction or spring Scooter Libby; he just got some expensive haircuts."
Good quote. Still, we imagine Murray's had better days.
