This running for president business is expensive, even if you’re rich.

Mitt Romney has just reported loaning his own campaign another $6.5 million after a $2 million loan in the first quarter to kick off his advertising. Romney reported raising a total $14 million in other contributions in the second quarter, for a six-month total of $43.9 million from more than 80,000 donors including himself. All of it is primary money.

His cash on hand is $12 million.

Meanwhile, Rudy Giuliani’s campaign reported raising $17 million in the second quarter in both primary and general election money and having a considerable $18 million-plus in cash on hand now with zero debt.
