You and I

June 19, 2007 | 10:15 am

Well, it's official. The H. Clinton campaign has just picked its official campaign song, "You and I" by Celine Dion. (Wait a minute, she's Canadian!)

Dion_jif3cvnc But it's how they made the announcement that will have folks talking, which is, after all, the point of such political stunts. For weeks they've been using the website to solicit song suggestions. But now, see, there's this video. Hillary is sitting at a diner table looking through the jukebox offerings waiting for someone. In walks Bill. He sits down. Hillary has ordered a plate of veggie munchies. "I'm looking out for ya."

Somewhere outside someone is trying, unsuccessfully, to parallel park.

A mean-looking guy sits at the counter, eyeing the couple. He gets up to go somewhere (the restroom?) He walks by the table scowling. Hillary looks up. That face looks familiar. Who is it?

Oh, my gosh, it's Johnny Sack. He's out of the big house?

Hillary puts some money in the jukebox. Which song will she pick? "You'll see," she says.

Blackout.

I can't decide if the choice of a Celine Dion song is a statement about female empowerment or the perpetration of a joke, like the people who voted for Sanjaya on "American Idol."

haha you're all losers. People voted in their millions for this and Celine won. it goes to show how popular she is!

Good Night Nurse! Ohmygawdwhataload! This woman is such a giver. Celine Dion!? A Canadian pseudo-diva!? The near endless opportunities for a full throttle WFO all out fun fest this one epic ankle grab provides may keep hope alive for months. Jay Leno is offering thanks to Jesus right this moment. What's even better is that this song actually won a contest - ( Hilly's Presidential Campiagn Theme Song Contest!?!? ) - and the peek into mindset of Hillariacs by virtue of this choice is priceless. Despair eternally, America, if this emasculating freemartin harpy ever wins. Gad, what a load!
