Sound Off: The governor's new budgets
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger issued two revised budget outlines Thursday for the coming fiscal year -- one that assumes passage of Propositions 1A through 1E on May 19, the other based on the more likely result of them failing. Both are grim, but the latter is more drastic, calling for nearly $6 billion in additional borrowing and belt-tightening. Critics on both sides of the political spectrum accused the governor of engaging in scare tactics in a last-ditch bid to salvage the ballot measures. What do you think?
