Jessica Vasilic of Anaheim Canyon shot a 66 on Thursday to lead the qualifiers at the Southern California regional golf finals at The Golf Club at Rancho California in Murrieta.
Torrey Pines, Diamond Bar and Palm Desert qualified to compete at the state championships on Tuesday at Red Hill Country Club in Rancho Cucamonga.

Bethany Wu of Diamond Bar shot a 69 on Thursday at Western Hills Country Club to win the Southern Section individual girls' golf championship by two strokes over Esther Lee of Los Alamitos. Anne Cheng of Torrance and Amy Lee of Brea Olinda were next with 72s.

Vista Murrieta was the top team qualifier at the Regional state qualifying tournament on Monday at The Golf Club at Rancho California in Murrieta.
Alexia Garlepy shot 72 to lead Vista Murrieta, which finished at 376. Mater Dei was second at 378. Palm Desert and Diamond Bar also move on to the state finals on Nov. 13 at Red Hill Country Club in Rancho Cucamonga.
The low score on the day was a 67 by Marcella Pranovia of Mater Dei.

There's no doubt who's the No. 1 girls' golfer in the City Section.
Junior Tiffany Yau of Van Nuys easily defended her championship on Monday, recording a nine-stroke victory after shooting a five-under 68 at Balboa Golf Course.
Granada Hills won the team title by three strokes over El Camino Real. North Hollywood finished third, Venice fourth and LACES was fifth.

The City Section girls' golf championships will be held Monday at Balboa Golf Course, and Granada Hills is considered the favorite.
El Camino Real and Venice also figure to be in the running for the team title.
Tiffany Yau of Van Nuys returns to defend her individual title won last season when she was a sophomore.

Amy Lee, a sophomore at Brea Olinda, led all qualifiers with a 69 on Wednesday at Recreation Park Golf Course in Long Beach. Forty-five players advanced to next week's Southern Section individual girls' finals on Nov. 1 at Western Hills Country Club.

Palm Desert won the CIF-WSCGA Regional Championship in girls' golf on Thursday, finishing with a score of 392 to beat second-place Torrey Pines in the team competition at the Golf Club of Rancho California in Murrieta.
Sandy Choi of Torrey Pines won the individual title with a round of 70. Megan King of Mira Costa was second with a 72.

Lilia Vu of Fountain Valley won the Southern Section girls' individual golf championship on Monday after finishing with a 70 at Talega Golf Course in San Clemente.

Palm Desert captured the Southern Section Ford girls' golf championship on Thursday at the River Course at the Alisal in Solvang with a narrow victory over Torrance. Palm Desert had a score of 391 and Torrance 392. Palos Verdes finished third.
