Track: It's a national title for ex-Hart triple jumper Tim White

June 20, 2013 |  4:32 pm

Tim White, a former Newhall Hart triple jumper, won the U.S. Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championship in the event on Thursday in Des Moines, Iowa, recording a winning mark of 53 feet, 1 inches.

White, who now competes for College of the Canyons, earned an invite to represent the United States at the Pan Am Junior Championships on Aug. 23-25 in Medellin, Colombia.

White previously won the California Community College Athletic Assn. state championship in the triple jump. The 53-1 effort is a personal best. He had gone 52-0 at the Western State Conference Championship.
