What a year it was for Harvard-Westlake freshman Courtney Corrin, who set a national freshman high jump record earlier this year with a leap of 20 feet, 11 inches.

She didn’t jump quite that far Saturday, but her 20-9 1/4 mark was plenty good enough to win the state title in Clovis. In fact, she won by almost eight inches.

How good is Corrin? Afterwards she said her goal was 21 feet. Of course, with three more years of high school ahead of her she has plenty of time to get to that goal and beyond.
