Football: Venice is producing quality quarterbacks

With the decision of Alexander Diamont of Venice to commit to Indiana, he’ll join a long list of Venice quarterbacks who ended up in college after playing for Coach Angelo Gasca.

Gasca has produced one of the best passing attacks in the City Section year after year, and his quarterbacks have been rewarded.

There was JP Losman, a 1999 grad who signed with UCLA. Then came Anton Clarkson, who went to Oregon State; Eddie Miller, who went to Louisville; Beau Davis, who went to Nebraska; Robert Ambers, who went to Mississippi State, and Alfonso Medina, who ended up at Weber State via Santa Monica College.
