Boys' basketball: It's a 33-point performance by Deontae North

June 24, 2013 |  6:58 pm

Corona Centennial, which owned a victory over Southern Section Division 1AA champion Etiwanda last season, is going to be another threat to the Eagles based on their 94-77 opening win over Crespi in the Fairfax tournament on Monday night.

A stronger Deontae North scored 33 points. Point guard Sedrick Barefield had 20 points and sophomore Jordan Griffin had 19. The Huskies' pressure defense caused Crespi trouble all night.

DJ Ursery scored 28 points for Crespi and Max Heidegger had 22 points.

Centennial will play Loyola on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. in a quarterfinal game.
