Boys’ basketball: Evan Wardlow leads El Camino Real

Evan Wardlow is known for his defense, but he also came through offensively on Monday night, making four three-pointers and finishing with 20 points in El Camino Real’s 77-64 win over Harvard-Westlake in the Fairfax tourament.

The Conquistadores advance to play Chino Hills on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinals.

Chris Terry, a transfer from Royal, gave the Conquistadores a second-half boost after leading, 36-35, at halftime. He finished with 15 points, the same as guard Maleke Haynes.

Derick Newton scored 23 points for Harvard-Westlake.
