Boys’ basketball: Crespi summer league begins on Wednesday

Encino Crespi is hosting a weekly boys’ basketball summer league on Wednesday nights.

Here’s the opening night schedule: La Canada vs. West Ranch, 3:45 p.m.; Westlake vs. Viewpoint, 5 p.m.; Newbury Park vs. Chatsworth, 6:15 p.m.; Oaks Christian vs. Moorpark, 7:30 p.m.; Calabasas vs. Village Christian, 8:45 p.m.

Westlake could be the favorite to win the Marmonte League after picking up a nice transfer student, 6-foot-4 junior-to-be Michael Hayon from Calabasas.

On June 11-12-13-14-15, Crespi will be holding a tournament that includes Chaminade, Fairfax, Santa Margarita, Brentwood, St. Francis, Royal and Crescenta Valley.
