Boys’ basketball: A 29-point effort by Max Hazzard of Loyola

The big three showed up on Wednesday night for Loyola in its second-round game of the Maranatha tournament, and they delivered.

Max Hazzard scored 29 points, Thomas Welsh had 22 points and Parker Jackson-Cartwright added 15 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in an 75-65 victory over Calabasas. Jeremy Lieberman had 23 points and Max Hoetzel 15 for Calabasas.

Campbell Hall defeated Brentwood behind Aaron Holiday, who scored 29 points, had 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Kahlil Simplis added 15 points. Ountae Campbell had 18 points for Brentwood.

St. Francis defeated La Salle, 58-56, in overtime. Kyle Leufroy scored 19 points, including seven in overtime. Noah Willerford made four three-pointers for St. Francis. Vance Jackson had 30 points for La Salle.

West Ranch defeated Pasadena, 60-45.
