Southern Section baseball: Jack Flaherty gives team 1-0 lead

After escaping a bases loaded jam in the top of the third inning by striking out Austin Sojka, Jack Flaherty delivered an RBI single on a 3-and-2 count in the bottom of the third to give Harvard-Westlake a 1-0 lead over Marina in the Southern Section Division 1 final at Dodger Stadium.

Casey Rosenfeld led off the inning with a single, moved to second on a sacrifice and stole third.

Arden Pabst followed with a double after Flaherty’s hit, but Flaherty was thrown out at the plate trying to score from first base.
