Southern Section baseball: Marcus Wilson hits home run for Serra

Marcus Wilson, a junior outfielder, got an early thrill at Dodger Stadium on Friday, lining a second-inning home run that hit the foul pole down the left-field line and stayed fair, to give Gardena Serra a 1-0 lead over Mira Costa in the Southern Section Division 3 championship game.

Dominic Smith has struck out six batters, including five in a row, in three innings for Serra.
