Golf: Oaks Christian wins SCGA qualifier

Oaks Christian is no longer just a football power. The Lions placed first in the SCGA qualifier golf on Thursday at Mission Lakes Country Club.

The Lions finished at 371. Second place was Sunny Hills at 374. Loyola was third at 375 and St. Margaret’s was fourth at 380. Peter Griffith led Oaks Christian with a 70.

The top individual player was Diamond Bar sophomore Sahith Theegala, who shot 69.

Correction: An earlier version of this blog had Oaks Christian winning a Southern Section team title in golf. It was an SCGA qualifying tournament.
