Football: Westlake is performing well in early passing tournaments

Westlake won its second seven on seven passing tournament of the month on Saturday at Long Beach Cabrillo, defeating Alemany in the final.

The Warriors have been showing improvement from last summer's performances, an indication they could be much better at the quarterback position. Sophomore-to-be Malik Henry is making a bid to be a starter at quarterback.

Alemany also is going to be a factor in summer competitions with its strong group of receivers.
