Football: Upland to play Mater Dei in season opener

Upland and Santa Ana Mater Dei have reached agreement to open the 2013 football season in a nonleague game during zero week at Santa Ana Bowl.

It could be the debut for Sherman Oaks Notre Dame transfer Tyler Hilinski, a junior-to-be quarterback who is competing for the starting position at Upland.
