Football: Chaminade wins seven on seven passing tournament

With quarterback Brad Kaaya on target, West Hills Chaminade won its division of the Valley College seven on seven passing tournament on Saturday, defeating Orange Lutheran in the semifinals and Palmdale in the final.

The Eagles are loaded in the skills position department, led by the Miami-bound Kaaya. Coach Ed Croson singled out running back Donovan Lee and and receiver Brandon Lee on offense, and safety Jojo McIntosh on defense.

At the Crescenta Valley tournament, Hart won the championship, beating the host Falcons in the final. Quarterback Brady White and receivers Trent Irwin and Andrew MacArthur were the standouts for Hart.

In the Canyon tournament, Westlake defeated Sherman Oaks Notre Dame in the final. Westlake used three quarterbacks _ Malik Henry, Tommy Gonzales and Wes Massett.

Upland went 7-0 to win the Charter Oak tournament. Tyler Hilinski, a tranfer from Notre Dame, made a successful debut for Upland at quarterback. He shared duties with Zac Sturdivant.
