Baseball: The home run that keeps on going [Video]

May 16, 2013 |  8:00 pm

On the second pitch in the bottom of the first inning on Thursday, Jake Bauers of Huntington Beach Marina sent the ball flying over the right-field fence against Norco. It was one of those moon shots seen at a big-league park.

And Bauers, a senior who has seven home runs and a batting average above .550, could be headed to pro baseball one day. He also scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh on a walk-off bases loaded single by Tyler Mildenberg to give Marina a 2-1 win over Norco in the opening round of the Southern Section Division 1 playoffs.

Austin Olivas threw a complete game for the Vikings, who will play at Thousand Oaks on Tuesday.
