There was lots of drama on Tuesday in a Southern Section Division 1 wild-card game between host Santa Margarita and Mission Viejo.

Down by a run going into the bottom of the seventh, Santa Margarita pulled out a 5-4 victory by getting the tying run on a bases loaded walk and scoring the winning run on a hit batter. Add to that, the Eagles got a three-run home run from Austin Ponzi in the fourth inning. Santa Margarita will play at Corona Santiago on Thursday.

Alemany got four hits and three RBIs from sophomore Ruben Cardenas in an 11-10 victory over Canyon Springs. Terrell Tate, Cristian Montes and Paul Banyi each added two hits. Alemany will play at Fountain Valley.

Tim Richards had two RBIs to rally Long Beach Wilson to a 4-2 victory over Brea. Wilson will play at El Toro. Valencia defeated Westlake, 11-2. Chad Bible and Anthony Lepre each had three hits and AJ Balta had a grand slam. Valencia will play on the road against Harvard-Westlake.

Huntington Beach earned the right to play top-seeded Mater Dei after a 2-1 win over Riverside King. Jessie Kuet had three hits. Thousand Oaks defeated Servite, 3-2, on a walk-off double by Bailey Holbrook. The Lancers will play at Anaheim Canyon. El Modena defeated Simi Valley, 3-1, and will play at Lakewood.
