Baseball: Kirav Patel gets third no-hitter for Windward

Kirav Patel threw his third no-hitter in L.A. Windward's 2-0 victory over Sierra Canyon, clinching at least a share of the Delphic League championship.

Windward is 8-0 in league. Patel is headed to the University of Pennsylvania.

In a Del Rey League game, Dominic Smith hit a three-run home run as Gardena Serra defeated St. Paul, 7-1. Solomon Bates threw three shutout innings of relief.

Baldwin Park completed a sweep of Hacienda Heights Wilson with a 14-1 victory in the Valle Vista League. Ben Fonseca threw five shutout innings to improve to 8-1. He added two hits and three RBIs, raising his batting average to .477. Dominic Hilo had two triples and four RBIs.

Buckley defeated Providence, 22-0. Zach Miller struck out 12 to help New Community Jewish defeat Pacifica Christian, 12-1, in a Liberty League game.
