Loyola defeated Riverside Poly, 9-4. The Cubs gave up three runs in the top of the first inning, then scored six runs in the bottom of the first, with Joe Viole hitting a two-run home run and Chad Powers getting a two-run double.

The other semifinal will match No. 3-seeded Harvard-Westlake against Los Alamitos at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Blair Field. Jack Flaherty (12-0) threw a three-hitter and struck out 10 with zero walks to lead Harvard-Westlake past Santa Margarita, 5-0. Brian Ginsberg had a pair of RBI singles and Arden Pabst had three hits.

Los Alamitos knocked off No. 2-seeded El Toro, 4-1, behind a complete game from junior pitcher Jacob Nix.
