There could be a rivalry brewing between comedians Jamie Foxx and George Lopez, and Saturday’s City Section Division I championship baseball game at Dodger Stadium is front and center.

Lopez is the No. 1 fan of the San Fernando Tigers. He attended San Fernando, helped pay for championship rings when the Tigers won their baseball title two years ago and was in the dugout celebrating with players Wednesday night after an 8-4 semifinal win over Banning.

Foxx is the uncle of Cleveland outfielder Reno Rankin. There’s no word whether Foxx will be attending Saturday’s 1 p.m. game, as Lopez will, but he’ll surely be rooting for Rankin, who has become one of the top hitters for Cleveland.

Only in Los Angeles can there be celebrity comedians choosing sides in a high school championship baseball game.
