May 7, 2013 |  7:38 pm

Jack Hartman struck out seven in six innings and Reno Rankin went two for four with a home run and four RBIs to help Reseda Cleveland defeat Birmingham, 8-2, and enable the Cavaliers to clinch at least a share of the West Valley League championship. They can win it outright on Thursday night with a win at Birmingham.

Hartman won his 11th consecutive game and improved to 11-1. He has allowed one earned run in 32 league innings while going 5-0. Can you say league MVP?

Chatsworth defeated Taft, 5-0, with Jason Karkenny throwing a three-hitter.

Granada Hills continued its rise in the West Valley League with a 3-0 victory over El Camino Real. It was the Highlanders' sixth consecutive victory. Ryan McBride threw the shutout. Joe Goring and Justin Castaneda had two hits apiece.
