Baseball: Cesar Chavez wins City Section Division II semifinal [Updated]

Cesar Chavez, only in its second year of existence, is headed to Dodger Stadium to play in Saturday's City Section Division II championship game at 10 a.m.

Located in San Fernando, Chavez defeated Eagle Rock, 5-3, on Thursday at USC in a Division II semifinal. Andres Hernandez threw a complete game and also had a double.

Sophomore Mark Padilla had an RBI double during a three-run inning for the Eagles, who will play Van Nuys on Saturday.

Van Nuys defeated Grant, 3-1, in the other semifinal. Raul Pacheco threw a complete game five-hitter.
