Oak Park and Camarillo will be moving to the Marmonte League beginning in 2014 under a proposal voted on by the Northern Area representatives on Monday.

After five votes and close to five hours of discussions, the final Northern Area league alignments will have the Marmonte broken into two leagues. Simi Valley, Royal, Thousand Oaks, Westlake and Camarillo will form one league for all sports but football. Calabasas, Agoura, Moorpark, Newbury Park and Oak Park will form the other league.

For football, leagues will be formed based on performance, allowing schools to move around.

Oaks Christian and St. Bonaventure are no longer part of the Northern Area but have hired attorneys in an attempt to reverse the decision that will send them to the Parochial Area.

‘I guess we go back and do it all over again,’ Moorpark Athletic Director Rob Dearborn said when asked what happens if St. Bonaventure or Oaks Christian are sent back into the Northern Area.
