The sports program at Playa del Rey St. Bernard continues to be engulfed in controversy.

In a school year where the football coach resigned, the boys’ basketball coach was replaced and athletes scattered to other schools, now the girls’ basketball coach, Bo Corona, has been fired, angering alumni. Corona sent out an email to alumni announcing the decision.

The girls’ team has enjoyed great success, losing in this year’s Southern California Division IV regional final.
