Basketball: Battle of the Valley is Saturday

The Battle of the Valley boys’ and girls’ all-star basketball games will be held Saturday at L.A. Valley College. The boys’ game is at 7 p.m. and the girls’ game is at 5 p.m.
In the boys’ game, Virginia-bound London Perrantes will lead a loaded West team that also includes Hawaii-bound Michael Thomas of El Camino Real, Ron Lee Jr. of Oak Park and Scott Woods of Royal. Craig Griffin of Royal is coaching the West.
The East team has standouts from West Ranch, Ako Kaluna (Northern Arizona) and Kevin Harris (UC San Diego), Jaron Martin from Chaminade and Tyler Coppin-Carter from Buckley. Shant Bicacki of West Ranch is coaching the East.
In the girls’ game, Cora Chan of El Camino Real is one of the top players for the West that will be coached by Chaminade’s Kelli DiMuro.
The East team, coached by Jerry Mike of Valencia, includes Danielle Ward of Granada Hills and Ayisat Afolabi of Monroe.
