Baseball: Narbonne wins Marine League showdown with San Pedro

The hitters came to hit on Wednesday in a Marine League showdown between league favorites San Pedro and Narbonne. There were five triples after two innings and 11 runs scored.

Narbonne went on to secure an 11-8 victory, improving to 12-10 overall and 3-0 in league. Omar Avila came on in relief and pitched well for the Gauchos after San Pedro had taken a 6-5 lead.

Daniel Rocha had a two-run triple to help Narbonne take a 5-0 lead. He finished with three hits. Adrian Perez added three hits.

In the East Valley League, Verdugo Hills defeated Arleta, 2-0. Albert Olmos threw the shutout. North Hollywood defeated Chavez, 9-3. Eddie Torres had three hits and four RBIs.

In a Western League upset, LACES defeated Palisades, 5-4.
