Girls' basketball: Sierra Canyon takes 36-22 lead in Division V final

March 22, 2013 | 11:07 am

Chatsworth Sierra Canyon owned the third quarter of its CIF state championship Division V final against Pinewood.

After leading by just one point at halftime, the Trailblazers have surged to 36-22 lead after three quarters. Zoe Goss got things going, but the key was getting lots of contributors. Gabi Nevill hit a three-pointer. Cheyanne Wallace got an offensive rebound basket. Kennedy Burke scored.

Sierra Canyon is eight minutes away from its first state basketball championship.
