Girls' basketball: It won't get any better than Windward-Mater Dei final

The CIF Southern California Open Division championship game in girls' basketball is about as good as it can get.

It will be Los Angeles Windward (31-0) taking on Santa Ana Mater Dei (30-1) on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario.

Windward defeated La Jolla Country Day, 52-46, in the semifinals. The Wildcats have the best guard duo in the state with Jordin Canada and Courtney Jaco.

Mater Dei, upset in the 1AA playoffs by Etiwanda, knocked off Corona Santiago, 78-69, in the semifinals.

Can Windward's guards overcome Mater Dei's size advantage?

It should be a terrific matchup, with a trip to Sacramento on the line.
