Girls’ basketball: Here come the Alemany Warriors

They call themselves the Warzone. They’re the basketball cheering section for the Alemany High Warriors, and 12 bus loads of students have arrived in Sacramento to cheer on the girls’ basketball team on Friday playing in the CIF state Division III championship game at 2 p.m.

That’s more than 650 students. The buses were scheduled to leave just before midnight on Thursday.

Students will watch a 9 a.m. showing of ‘Oz the Great and Powerful’ at a theater. Some might sleep through it, though, since the word is not many got any sleep.

Last year, the Warriors won the Division III boys’ title.
