Girls’ basketball: Erica McCall is Gatorade state player of the year

Erica McCall from Bakersfield Ridgeview has been selected the Gatorade state player of the year in girls’ basketball.

The 6-foot-3 senior forward is averaging 19.7 points, 15.1 rebounds and 8.5 blocks a game. She holds the state record for career blocks and has been selected for the McDonald’s All American Game. She will be facing Lynwood in the CIF Southern California Division II championship game on Saturday in Ontario.

She has signed with Stanford.
