In the weirdness category comes this recruiting tidbit: Miami has scholarship offers out to two quarterbacks with ties to West Hills Chaminade.

Miami offered a scholarship on Thursday to junior quarterback Brad Kaaya of Chaminade.

Miami earlier offered a scholarship to Ventura St. Bonaventure sophomore quarterback Ricky Town, who used to be a quarterback at Chaminade before transferring to St. Bonaventure after his freshman season. Then Kaaya arrived from Encino Crespi.

‘Maybe it’s something in the water,’ Chaminade Coach Ed Croson said.

Perhaps former Chaminade kicker Matt Goudis is putting in a good word with the Miami coaches. He’s a sophomore kicker at Miami.

‘Maybe his calling is as a recruiter,’ Croson said.
