Football: Hart's 1983 championship team to have reunion

March 21, 2013 |  8:09 am

They're old enough now to have kids in high school and college.

Members of the Newhall Hart 1983 Southern Section championship football team will hold a 30-year reunion party on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Valencia TPC.

Here's the link to the Facebook page created for the team.

The quarterback on that team, Tom Bonds, will have an incoming freshman son, Michael, playing quarterback at Newport Harbor this fall. He'll have big shoes to fill, because his uncle, Jim, also won a championship playing QB at Hart, played at UCLA and is the head coach at St. Francis. But Michael could be the tallest Bonds at 5-11 already.

The Hart coach was Carl Sweet, who went on to coach at El Dorado.

Hart has a home game on Oct. 18, so it could be a big weekend for ex-Hart players.
