Boys’ basketball: Village Christian has 44-42 lead over Flintridge Prep

Flintridge Prep made seven three-pointers and had 11 baskets in the first quarter, then didn’t make a basket in the second quarter but still led Village Christian, 36-34, at halftime of a Division V state playoff game.

Village Christian has a 44-42 lead late in the third quarter.

In Division I games, Palisades defeated Mission Viejo, 72-70. Loyola rallied for a 76-68 win over Taft. Thomas Welsh had 20 points and 15 rebounds for Loyola. Kris Yanku scored 28 points in his final game for Taft. Crenshaw defeated Crescenta Valley, 89-74. Santa Monica defeated Narbonne, 73-68.

In Division II, Redondo defeated Garces, 64-48. Ian Fox scored 21 points. Westlake defeated Arroyo Grande, 72-45. Grant Lozoya had 26 points. Thousand Oaks defeated Gardena, 69-59.

In Division III, Jack Williams had 19 points and 15 rebounds and Jaron Martin had 18 points and eight assists in Chaminade’s 83-41 win over Mt. Whitney. Royal defeated Sun Valley Poly, 71-61. Max McCoy had 17 points and Scott Woods 15.

In Division IV, Crespi defeated LACES, 77-61, with Max Heidegger scoring 19 points and London Perrantes 15.
