When it comes to handling pressure, 6-foot-4 junior guard Trey Kell proved Friday he has ice water running through his veins.

With 2.9 seconds left in the fourth quarter of the CIF Division II state championship boys’ basketball game and his team trailing, 47-44, Kell made three free throws to send the game into overtime after being fouled on a three-point attempt. He finished with 30 points as San Diego St. Augustine defeated San Francisco Sacred Heart Cathedral, 59-52.
