Boys' basketball: Santa Monica takes 26-16 halftime lead
Santa Monica led by as many as 15 points in the second quarter before settling for a 26-16 halftime lead over Loyola in the CIF Southern California Division I final at Citizens Business Bank Arena.
Troy Maloney made two three-pointers in the second quarter for Santa Monica when the Vikings opened a 22-7 lead. He had 11 points and was three for three from three-point range.
Trey Mason connected on a pair of shots to briefly rally the Cubs, who for the third time in the state playoffs trail big at halftime.
