It was all about the guards at Pacific Hills this season. The trio of Marcus Jackson, Namon Wright and Jahmel Taylor was considered the best in Southern California and they helped the Bruins win the CIF state championship Division IV title on Saturday with a 58-52 victory over Cardinal Newman at Sleep Train Arena.

Jackson scored 23 points, Wright 17 and Taylor 14. They scored all but four points for the Bruins (29-4). Jonathon Mills had the four points.

Cardinal Newman had a 46-45 lead with 4:16 left when Pacific Hills began to tighten its defense and turned to its guards to close out the victory. Jackson made a three-pointer, Taylor scored off a steal and Wright followed with a basket.
