Boys’ basketball: Horizon Christian wins on a buzzer beater, 47-46

San Diego Horizon Christian pulled out a 47-46 victory over Alameda St. Joseph Notre Dame in the CIF state championship Division V game with a wild finish at Sleep Train Arena.

St. Joseph Notre Dame missed four consecutive free throws in the final seconds, the last one coming with four seconds left.

Down by 2, Horizon hurried the ball up after the miss, and Ethan Underwood made a three-pointer at the buzzer for the victory.

Temidayo Yussef, a muscular 6-foot-6 junior center, scored 20 points and had 19 rebounds to lead St. Joseph Notre Dame. Darren Carrington had 17 points for Horizon.
