Boys' basketball: Buckley wins its first Southern Section championship

Sherman Oaks Buckley won its first Southern Section championship since the school opened in 1933, defeating San Luis Obispo Mission Prep, 54-46, in the 5AA championship game at Mater Dei under Coach Mike Hamilton.

Tyler Coppin-Carter had 16 points and sophomore Austin Butler added 15 for Buckley.

Quinton Adlesh had 24 points for Mission Prep.
