In 27 years as baseball coach at Encino Crespi, Scott Muckey always seems to find someone who can become a sidearm pitching specialist. His latest creation, Andy Frakes, could end up being the best.

Frakes, who signed with the University of San Francisco, threw seven shutout innings on Tuesday in Crespi’s 1-0, nine-inning victory over Quartz Hill. The winning run came home on a passed ball. Ty Boyles struck out eight in six innings for Quartz Hill.
