Baseball: Quartz Hill comes close but loses to Bishop Gorman

In a tournament in Phoenix on Monday, Quartz Hill was leading highly ranked Las Vegas Bishop Gorman for much of the game but gave up four runs in the bottom of the seventh and lost, 7-6.

Ty Boyles struck out 12 in five innings while allowing four hits. He also had a home run and double.

Quartz Hill won its second game in Arizona, 13-4, over Arizona Cesar Chavez. Alec Smith had a double and three RBIs.
