March 18, 2013 |  7:27 pm

Former West Hills Chaminade pitcher Mathew Troupe, a sophomore at Arizona, and former Bishop Amat pitcher David Berg, a sophomore at UCLA, are thriving as closers in the Pac-12.

This season, Troupe has thrown 14 1/3 scoreless innings, struck out 24, given up just five hits and has a 2-0 record with four saves.

Berg is 2-0 with five saves for UCLA. He has appeared in 13 games, has an 0.84 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 21 1/3 innings.

They are Southern California products making the home fans proud.
