Baseball: Mater Dei breaks jinx and holds down No. 1 spot in rankings

For the first time this season, one high school baseball team has stayed No. 1 in The Times’ top 25 rankings for consecutive weeks.

It’s Santa Ana Mater Dei, which breaks the jinx of the No. 1 team losing after being ranked No. 1. Loyola, Serra, Los Osos and Chaparral make their first appearances in the top 25.
